Wild Shots 3 Finalists Voting

Safarious / Published February 15, 2013 04:44 PM
We just want to say a huge Thank You to everyone that entered our Wild Shots competition; it was an incredibly difficult undertaking to judge all your submissions, there were over 300 Galleries and 1000's of images submitted! But eventually we had to choose our finalists, and we did this by selecting the most “Safarious” Gallery, the Gallery with the most diverse and curiously appealing content. So without further ado, here are our Top 3 Galleries selected unanimously by our panel of judges. Now it’s up to YOU to vote for your favorite WILD SHOTS Gallery!

Voting ends on the 25th February 2013 after which the winner of the Swarovski binoculars will be announced!

Dear Safarious, I didn't realize a gallery could include photographs from several photographers, like in the first gallery shown here. That doesn't really make sense to me; I thought we were voting for one photographer. Thanks.

I would give the binocs to Botswana Updates but they are all fascinating galleries with little to separate them.

South Luangwa for me - I've been there many times and the photos evoke the essence of that magical place!

Hi Lori, Thanks for bringing that to our attention, we have regrettably had to take Tara's Gallery out of the Competition due to technicalities. Everyone who voted for her should now be able to vote for one of the other Galleries!

So hard to choose but settled for the one I would have liked to have been able to do. Good luck.

Just a thought - the South Luangwa Valley gallery appears to have been taken by a professional photographer; is this so, and is it permitted..?

Hi Alister - actually Alex is an amateur photographer, but the competition is open to all members of safarious.

It's all beautiful work - spectacular galleries! Robyn Gianni though has the edge - mind blowing composition - perfect time of day - and excellent post production!

What is Campfire?

Campfire is a place where published items with the most participation go so that everyone knows what’s hot. The more people that collaborate around an item the hotter the fire gets.

Starting a Campfire

Campfires get started when a published item in the Explore section recieves a high rate of participation from other members.

What is Stoking?

Stoking is a form of fire starting. When you stoke an item on safarious you’re basically promoting as a campfire worthy. Stoking has a higher value over comments and views taking place on an item.

Stoke_example

The more stokes the higher the chances an item will catch and turn a campfire.
